Cheers to Ice Cream

Tonight we joined some friends for impromptu ice cream downtown, on 5 minutes notice.  Just jumped in the car, headed to the local ice cream parlor and walked to the outdoor concert in the park.   Raegan and her friend Ava ran around the water fountains and clapped to the Eagles cover band.  We pushed bedtime, skipped a bath....lived a little.

When we bought our house 3.5 years ago, we thought we were getting old.   We thought, "What do you do in the suburbs?"

Let me tell you.

You fix your old house, falling in love all over again.   You welcome a baby, grow up a toddler, and develop friendships with wonderful people you never thought you'd meet.

Here's to putting down roots, with a scoop of vanilla.
