In August we braved Hurricane Irene and traveled to South Carolina. Sounds crazy, but it was not headed to Charleston and we were landed and hunkered down prior to her arrival. We experienced some strong winds, a little rain, AND HUGE WAVES but we faired just fine.
Friday night, as Irene passed by, you could see the black clouds out to sea circling in a counterclockwise motion. Amazing. We watched her from the condo pass right on by us. In her wake was a beautiful double rainbow and the most glorious sunset.
Raegan enjoyed playing in the sand. She LOVED her "water jacket", but was not 100% sure about swimming in the ocean. She loves the pool, but I think the undertow and sand disappearing beneath her feet was a little unsettling.
We had our first trial run in a rental bike trailer and Raegan loved it. Thanks to Gran and Pops for her birthday gift (see previous post).
A visit to Fort Sumter where the Civil War began.
We had a beautiful sunset sail on the Charleston Harbor. Captain Brian even let Raegan sail the boat!
